Wellington, Feb. 26: India may have been humiliated by New Zealand in the first Twenty20 match on Wednesday but Yuvraj Singh doesn’t think that is too much of a cause for worry. He is confident the Blues will bounce right back into the series.

"The feeling is good, it (the loss) is just one game. We made some mistakes and it’s the beginning of a new tour — we have to understand a few things, the conditions, the wickets," he said on Thursday, eve of the second match.

Yuvraj promised the heat would be on the hosts soon. "It was a bit cold for us but wherever you go, you need to get set for the conditions. We’ve got a good feel, and will come hard in the next game. It’ll be a different game altogether," he promised.

"We’ve got five one-dayers, three Test matches and another T20, it’s a long tour, we’re all geared up for it," the warning got sterner.

Speaking about the glitches in the previous game, Yuvraj said: "We played too many shots. The moment we got going, we got out. We didn’t have too many early partnerships. So I guess we need to assess the conditions better in the next game and make a proper plan."

The amendments are ready on paper, according to Yuvraj. "We did play a lot of big shots. If we think about how we won the Twenty20 (World Cup) it was good planning. We just need to assess the conditions better and batsmen need to take more responsibility," he said.

Yuvraj also felt the boundaries were "a bit short" at Christchurch. "In India also you get a few grounds which have short boundaries. You have to take it in contention that you have still got to play good cricket shots to clear those ropes. That is in the back of our minds, but we have to concentrate on playing better cricket, not think about the grounds," he said.

The middle order bat complimented Martin Guptill for his 28-ball 41. "We see all the players, all the bowlers, all the batsmen. He batted well yesterday. We’ll assess our plans again and see in the next game," he said.

He signed off with a confident bottom-line. "We have a batting line-up that can achieve any target."
