Kings XI look to slay Royals

Cape Town, April 25: Shane Warne’s Rajasthan Royals face a revitalised Kings XI Punjab in their Indian Premier League T20 match, here on Sunday.

The Royals pulled off a win via the ‘super over’ in a nail-biting tie against the Kolkata Knight Riders after they had collapsed for 58 runs in their opening match — the lowest total in the short history of the IPL.

The Jaipur brigade will try their best to build on their success and improve their net run rate as they seek to defend their title.

With national teamer Yusuf Pathan going great guns and rookie pacer Kamran Khan living up to Warne’s expectations, Rajasthan have also showed that they can survive minus the services of their inaugural edition heroes Shane Watson and Sohail Tanvir.

Kings XI Punjab, also with just a single win to their credit, will be extra cautious as they look to resurrect their campaign.

Punjab skipper Yuvraj Singh will once again have rely on his bowlers to keep the Royals under check.

"We experimented with the bowling, shuffled it around and it worked in the end. We bowled and batted well, and stuck to our plans. I’m happy with the result," Yuvraj said after their seven-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore on Friday.

Riding on the heroics of English opener Ravi Bopara, who hammered a match winning 85, and burly South African all-rounder Yusuf Abdullah who scalped four wickets against Kolkata Knight Riders, the Preity Zinta part-owned Chandigarh team will look to climb in the team standings’ table. — PTI
