Mumbai, May 13: Mumbai Indians captain Sachin Tendulkar is upbeat ahead of his first Indian Premier League game and feels that it is seniors in the team like Sanath Jayasuriya and Shaun Pollock who will provide the team with the needed boost in their tie against the Chennai Super Kings at Wankhede Stadium here on Wednesday.

"The seamers have done a terrific job in the last three games which we won. We are also well aware of the fact the crowd is with us and that is a huge advantage. Jayasuriya provided the wickets that we needed against Kolkata Knight Riders and hence he will be a key bowler for us tomorrow," said the Master Blaster.

Tendulkar, who had to sit out in the first half of the league due to a groin injury, thinks that it is now quite clear which are the sides to beat in remaining matches. "There were some teams that started off well but fell off midway and there are others who started badly and then have done well. It’s all a question of momentum. We know who are in contention for the semis. Those are the teams we have to beat," said the 35-year-old.

Tendulkar is confident that the Rajasthan Royals led by Shane Warne and Punjab King’s XI captained by Yuvraj Singh are strong contenders to reach the final four of the event. He said that though Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was an important player in the opposition there are others like S. Badrinath and Albie Morkel who were threats as well so it would not be fair to focus on any one player.

"There will be challenges. It’s not only about Dhoni. There are other batsmen too. Badrinath has made some runs. And there are others like Albie Morkel. We don’t take anyone lightly. I have played Twenty20 games last year and thoroughly enjoyed them. I will just have to go out there with other senior players and get into the group. I’m prepared for all the challenges. That’s the reason I stayed with the team over the last three weeks to bond with them," he added.

Asked about the changes that his team will see for the tie the champion batsman said that there would not be too many changes in the 12 named for the last match, with only his name being added to that list. "We will see the wicket tomorrow and decide but there will not be too many changes," he said.

Tendulkar said he was now feeling much better physically and the discomfort he had experienced earlier after he played a practice tie midway through his rehabilitation process had completely gone.

"I feel much better and the discomfort I had felt has gone," he said.
