'Oz lack quality spinner'

Age Correspondent

Chennai, June 26: The forthcoming Ashes will be a tough series to predict, according to Dennis Lillee. "I can’t pick a clear winner this time. It is going to be extremely close. What worries me from an Australian perspective is that they lack a quality spinner. They have one specialist off-spinner in Nathan Hauritz and I think there is a shortage there. I am sure the wickets are going to aid turn and England are better equipped in that," said Lillee.

Lillee also noted that both the teams are short on quality in the fast bowling department.

"Both teams have few good Test bowlers but Australia though have an edge in the medium pace department. Brett Lee has to measure up well in his comeback while Mitchell Johnson has to be the mainstay," Lillee said.

It remains to be seen on how they work as a unit," said Lillee.
