Misbah new Pak T20 skipper?

Bipin Dani

Mumbai, July 27: When the two captains walk out for the toss at Colombo’s R. Premdasa Stadium in the sole Twenty20 International between Sri Lanka and Pakistan on August 12, Misbah-ul Haq is most likely to be Kumar Sangakkara’s counterpart and not all-rounder Shahid Afridi as was widely believed.

According to sources close to the team management in Colombo, Younis Khan’s successor will be Misbah.

The interim committee chaired by Wasim Bari has more or less decided to hand over the captaincy to the 35-year-old.

Bari is believed to have got positive feedback from the present selectors (they had no say in the present composition of the team) about Misbah before he left for Sri Lanka earlier this month.
