'IPL not behind T20 loss'

Mumbai, July 2: Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar feels that fatigue and Indian Premier League were not the reasons for India’s early exit in the World T20 championships in London.

"We can’t blame the IPL and fatigue to be the reason of India’s failure at the World T20 championships. There was something else to it.

"India were simply outplayed and the team who performed better were the clear winners. So let’s not blame external factors," said Gavaskar at the inaugural Dilip Sardesai Memorial Lecture on his second death anniversary.

He also advised youngsters to appreciate the opponent’s efforts and not indulge in sledging.
