Bengaluru, Aug. 30: The Men in Blue utilised their last session at the conditioning camp before the sojourn to Sri Lanka for the tri-series by sharpening their individual skills. In a short, intense session on the fourth and final camp day on Sunday, each player worked on specific areas.
Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and Yuvraj Singh had rather long batting sessions at the nets. Although it was a short training session in the morning before the camp wound up, the intensity could be clearly felt. While the concentration had been on the batsmen on the second day, the focus had been on the bowlers on the third day.
Coach Gary Kirsten and bowling coach Venkatesh Prasad were busy throughout the session. Towards the end, Kirsten fired some full-blooded throws towards Sachin, who hit his trademark straight drives with ease.
After the four-day camp, most players return to competitive cricket during the BCCI Corporate Trophy that is to be played between September 1 and 8.
