Mumbai, Sept. 3: India, Australia and the West India will be wondering how the newly-laid pitch at the Kinarara Oval will behave for the forthcoming DLF Cup in Kuala Lumpur, from September 12 to 24.
The Australian curator, however, is confident that it will be a "sporting wicket". Les Underwood Burdett, 55, will be take charge of the pitch next week. "I made my first assessment of the wicket last month and will be heading there once again with my staff on Monday," he told this paper from Australia.
Budett is a manager at the Adelaide Oval for South Australian Cricket Association. "I have travelled to almost all cricket-playing nations including India," he says proudly. His main job in Adelaide is to prepare and present the cricket pitches and surrounds for national and international cricket matches. However, he too holds care for all other sports and events as well.
Eddin Jashmin, the Bangladeshi curator now settled in Malaysia will be guided by Burdett.
