Mumbai, Sept. 4: Unless chief match-referee Ranjan Madugalle’s sister has a relapse of her recent illness, he is set to head the Darrel Hair hearings later this month.
"Things are getting better but certain things need time," he told this paper from Colombo, adding when pressed for details,"Whilst I understand your request I would really appreciate you respecting my privacy now when I need it most. So may be when things settle down I will but now now," he added.
The hearing will take place on September 27 or 28. The venue is not finalised yet but may be in London as the Pakistan cricket team’s lawyers (Mark Gay and Waseem Khokhar) of DLA Piper, the International Cricket Council’s solicitor David Stewart of Olswang & Co. and Queen’s Counsel David Pannic are based in London.
Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Shaharyar Khan had another round of meetings with his lawyers on Friday, it is learnt here. The PCB chairman who is now in London will head for Lahore before returning to London by the end of this month.
