Kolkata, Sept. 24: Former India captain Sourav Ganguly gave a thumbs up to the Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Team India that won the Twenty20 World Championship. "This team is better than the one which played the final of the 2003 World Cup (in South Africa) under my captaincy," he said after the match.
He added: "After we won against South Africa, I was confident that the team would go the distance. It’s a fantastic win." A host of former India captains were all unanimous in praising the Indian effort while former Pakistan skipper Imran Khan had a special word of congratulations for Dhoni’s young side, which he said, had shown tremendous fighting spirit right through the tournament. |
