Congratulations pour in after historic win

New Delhi, Sept. 24: President Pratibha Patil, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Lok Sabha speaker Somnath Chatterjee on Monday congratulated the Indian cricket team for their victory in the final of the Twenty20 World Championship in Johannesburg on Monday.

In her message to Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his team, the President said, "your team played positive cricket and the victory is an inspiration for our youth." The Prime Minister, who watched the three-and-a-half hour exciting game, said "they played well and made us all proud." Dr Singh watched the final game with great interest and after India's victory congratulated the team for an "impressive performance," the PM's media adviser Sanjaya Baru said.
