New Delhi, Sept. 18: World champions Australia regained the top position in the ICC ODI rankings on Friday after their 111-run win over England to go 6-0 up in the seven-match series.
India, consequently, slipped to third as the Aussies moved ahead of South Africa by a fraction of a ratings point.
Australia, however, need to win the last ODI of the series on Sunday to stay at the top.
An England win in the final match would send them back to third place.
Meanwhile, England stayed in seventh position, three ratings points behind New Zealand in sixth.
As the ICC Champions Trophy gets underway in South Africa next Tuesday, a single point separates Australia from India. A ranking battle will be on the cards over the next couple of weeks.
