Bengaluru, Oct. 16: More than the Royal Challengers Bangalore team, Mark Boucher is feeling the heat. The 32-year-old wicket-keeper has had a poor outing so far in the Champions League T20, being ordinary with the big gloves.
In the only opportunity he got with the bat against Victoria Bushrangers in the tournament, he failed to deliver, an indication of his failing prowess.
But on Friday, Boucher defended himself saying that he was still far from finished, while admitting that he was under pressure to perform. "There is always pressure as international player, which is a good thing. It keeps you on your toes. There are one or two things I would like to change in my game for T20 cricket and I will discuss it with my coach at home," Boucher said.
Against the Bushrangers, he struggled to adjust to the variable bounce on a slow pitch, letting of a couple of byes off Anil Kumble to sneak past him.
On Saturday’s game against the Delhi Daredevils, Boucher said they would like to end on a high, even if they were not in with a chance to qualify for semis. "I am not sure what the technicalities for RCB are to stay in the tournament, we’ll find that out tomorrow. Even if we are out of the competition, we want to go out on a winning note," he said.
