VIJAYAWADA, Dec. 1: Tamil Nadu were a comfortable 131/1 against Andhra on the third day of the four-day Ranji Trophy match at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium here on Monday. A. Mukund was batting on 72, while S. Badrinath was on 54 when stumps were drawn.

The lone wicket that Tamil Nadu lost was of M. Vijay who fell to Kalyan Krishna before he opened his account.

Earlier, Andhra resuming at 191/3 were all out for 283, losing their last seven wickets for 92 runs.

B. Sumanth who was not out at 70 on Sunday fell after adding another 20 runs, to Lakshmipathi Balaji, who bagged two wickets. Skipper Jnanendra Rao scored 58. Manor Sai made a valuable 22.

Wickets fell at regular intervals in the morning and after lunch. The last four wickets went in quick succession for only 13 runs. Amarnath took 3/57 while R. Aswin also bagged three wickets. Andhra who were 275/7 at one stage were bowled out for 283.

PTI adds: In Rajkot, a fine piece of spin bowling by off spinner Kamlesh Makwana helped Saurashtra thrash Rajasthan by an inning and 74 runs to secure six points.

In Baroda, Ameya Shrikhande’s century and a 174-run partnership for the second wicket with Rohan Bhogle helped Maharashtra reach 273/6 against Baroda.

In Nagpur, Srikanth Wagh hit an unbeaten 110 and shared an unbroken 10th wicket stand of 55 with Umesh Yadav (07) to enable Vidarbha gain a vital 25-run first innings lead over Assam.
